There's no missing the advent of Obama, but are we missing something here? All this euphoria will end. The "fighting like hell for votes" will result in a winner.

Because of social, political, and scientific ramifications, it is nearly impossible to carry on a conversation these days with anyone about evolution and intelligent design. This problem stems mainly from ignorance. Creationists disavow science and cannot be excused.

Barack Obama: Great Marketing, Shoddy Product 14

The Sentinel, Ohio State University, None, OH

Despite its tendency to fawn over him, the national media is beginning to see through the hype of Presidential candidate Barack Obama. A growing number of commentators and even Barack enthusiasts are beginning to worry about the personality cult developing among his supporters.

It is time to elect a man named 'Hussein' 11

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. That's how Shakespeare put it. In other words, a rose is a rose is a rose.

Apparently this truism no longer applies in today's climate of nearly tri-partisan politics. People keep talking about Hillary Clinton acting as a pre-emptive spoiler by staying in the game. I thought that was ridiculous just a few weeks ago, before I'd heard of people so set against Obama that they would rather vote for John McCain.

Take Back the Night to protest violence against women 6

The Lantern, Ohio State, Columbus, OH

9 hours ago by Michelle Mocnik

People will march and chant on campus streets tonight, advocating an end to violence against women.

But no men will be present during the march, and only women's voices will be heard.

Take Back the Night is an international event to raise awareness of rape and sexual violence against women and children and is held annually at Ohio State.

"Sinners! You're all sinners and you're going straight to hell!" We've all seen them, heard about them or been eternally damned by them. They are the street preachers, and they annually "bless" the public sidewalks of Otterbein's campus with their presence during the spring.

Why Clinton failed

The Lantern, Ohio State, OH

Thankfully, there is now light at the end of the tunnel in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. Of course, Barack Obama has been the likely nominee since about March, but the insufferable Hillary Clinton launched a kamikaze campaign that looked like it might just be successful until, well, North Carolina and Indiana finally placed the coup de grace on what had become one the odder presidential campaigns - one that saw Rudy Giuliani spend $50 million to net one delegate and saw Ron Paul get a national microphone.

With this year's election marking the first time in U.S. history when an African-American is in serious contention for the presidency, it comes as no surprise that the nature of race relations is being reexamined. What wasn't expected is the extent to which pure racism is influencing the nomination of the Democratic candidate.

I consider myself relatively lucky for this election, as I don't intensely despise the Republican nominee for President, John McCain. Save Ron Paul, had it been Romney, Huckabee(?), Guiliani, or any of the other fools that espoused their hypocritical slime during the Republican primaries, I would probably have turned on the apathy and tuned out the next seven months.

Dean Kahler woke up that sunny Monday morning and decided not to go to his 7:45 a.m. class. He saw Ohio National Guard searching people and decided he didn't want to deal with that hassle. He called his professors to let them know he wouldn't be attending class.
