While at a weekly songwriters' co-op in a basement bar in April 1991, something happened that singer-songwriter and mainly solo musician John Mullins did not expect - he formed a band. Almost 17 years later the magic and chemistry is still there.
Ekoostik Hookah, which is composed of Mullins and his long-time band mates, will be performing at the Centennial Terrace in support of their Live at The Newport DVD, which was released on May 23.

The Student Media Board (SMB) voted against continuing to fund Nexus, WSU's literary magazine, at the SMB's final meeting during the last week of spring quarter after a discussion at the meeting about the magazine's effectiveness and cost to produce.
The 2007-08 budget amount of around $32,000, which was allocated from the general budget controlled by the Students Organizations Budgeting Committee, will be reduced to zero during 2008-09.

June 21 - Officers were sent to Zink Rd. on report of possible drug activity. The resident was staying on campus as a part of the Civil Air Patrol. An officer with the Civil Air Patrol retrieved the resident from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The resident admitted that he had marijuana and rolling papers in his room, but said he has not smoked marijuana in the room.
